Overview:
Control which contacts can log into your client portal and what they can see by toggling login access and assigning roles.
Steps:
When adding or editing a contact, set Login Allowed? to Yes to grant portal access.
In Settings → Roles & Permissions, review or create a Contact role with the desired access rights (view projects, invoices, etc.).
Assign that role to the contact in the Edit Contact form.
Click Save.
Tips & Best Practices:
Create a “Portal User” role with read‑only permissions for most contacts.
Use separate roles (e.g., “Billing Contact,” “Project Manager”) to tailor access.
Revoke login access immediately when a contact leaves or no longer needs it.
Troubleshooting / FAQs:
Contact can’t log in after enabling: Ask them to clear browser cache and use the “Forgot Password” link.
Role changes not applied: Have the contact log out and back in to refresh permissions.
