Templates let you standardize contract creation—predefining subject lines, descriptions, types, and values for rapid reuse.
Steps to Add a Template:
Go to Work → Contracts, click Contract Template.
Click + Add Contract Template.
Fill in:
Subject * (template name)
Description (optional)
Contract Type * (select or Add)
Contract Value * and Currency
Click Save.
Steps to Use a Template:
When creating a new contract, select your template from the Template dropdown (appears once at least one template exists).
Fields auto‑populate—adjust as needed, then Save.
Tips & Best Practices:
Maintain one template per contract category (MSA, NDA, SOW) to avoid confusion.
Update templates when your legal team revises standard terms.
Name templates clearly (e.g., “NDA – Standard Client”).
Troubleshooting / FAQs:
Template not listed: Refresh the page after saving the template.
Placeholders missing: Laywork doesn’t support in‑document placeholders—templates prefill only the form fields.
