Decide which milestones should count toward your overall project budget and track their financial impact.
Steps
When creating or editing a milestone, find Add Cost To Project Budget.
Choose Yes to include this milestone’s cost in the project’s budget totals.
Click Save.
View the updated budget in the project Overview tab under Project Budget.
Repeat for each milestone whose cost you want to roll up.
Tips & Best Practices
Only mark billable milestones “Yes” to avoid skewing budget reports.
Use consistent cost units (e.g., all in USD) to simplify aggregation.
Regularly compare Milestone Cost vs. Earnings in the Overview to spot overruns.
Troubleshooting / FAQs
Budget not updating: Confirm the milestone’s Status isn’t set to Canceled—only active ones roll up.
Cost appears twice: Avoid toggling “Yes” on then off repeatedly—delete and recreate if needed.
Wrong currency shown: Milestone cost inherits the project’s currency—check under Project Settings.
