Overview:
Custom Fields allow you to tailor Laywork to your business needs by adding extra data fields to core modules like Projects, Tasks, Clients, Employees, and more.
Steps:
Go to Settings → Custom Fields.
Click on Add Custom Field.
Choose the module (e.g., Projects, Clients) where you want the field to appear.
Enter the field label, type (text, dropdown, date, etc.), and any default value.
Save your custom field.
Tips & Best Practices:
Use consistent naming conventions.
Limit to essential fields to avoid clutter.
Use dropdowns for standardized data entry.
Troubleshooting / FAQs:
Can I reorder fields? Not currently. Fields are sorted by creation time.
Are custom fields searchable? Only in modules with filterable views.
