Overview
When moving data between two Laywork accounts (e.g., after a merger or environment refresh), you can migrate both field definitions and their data in bulk.
Step‑by‑Step Instructions
Export Definitions: In the source account, go to Settings → Custom Fields, click Export.
Export Data: Use the global Export feature on the module (Projects, Clients, etc.) to include custom field columns.
Import Definitions: In the target account, import your definitions CSV via Settings → Custom Fields → Import.
Import Data: Navigate to the same module and use Import → CSV. Map the custom‑field columns to their newly imported definitions.
Validate: Spot‑check a few records to confirm the custom data landed correctly.
Tips
Perform a small test with a subset of records first.
Keep field keys (internal IDs) consistent if you want to maintain formulas or automations.
