Overview
To get Laywork notifications via SMS, you must enable the gateway and ensure each user’s mobile number includes the proper international dialing code.
Steps
Navigate to Settings > SMS Settings.
In the right‑hand list, check the notification events you want to receive by SMS (e.g. “Leave Approved”, “Payment Reminder”).
Under User Profiles (or in HR > Employees), verify that each user’s phone number is saved with their country code (for example, +1 for USA, +44 for UK).
Only one SMS gateway can be active at a time—confirm you’ve selected the correct provider in the gateway configuration area at the top.
Tips
If texts aren’t coming through, test your gateway by sending a manual SMS from its dashboard.
Make sure users have opted in to receive SMS messages under their personal Profile Settings.
