Overview
Deliver credit notes electronically via email directly from Laywork.
Steps
In Finance → Credit Note, click the desired credit note’s Action ⋮ menu.
Select Send to Client.
In the email modal, confirm the Recipient, Subject, and Message.
Click Send. A copy is saved under the credit note’s activity log.
Tips
Personalize the email message with the reason for the credit.
Attach supporting documentation (e.g. return receipt) for transparency.
Troubleshooting / FAQs
Q: “Send to Client” button is greyed out.
A: Credit note must be in Issued status. Click Issue first.
Q: Client did not receive the credit note.
A: Ask them to check spam/junk folders; verify their email address in the client profile.
