Overview
Add a one-time setup or onboarding fee that appears only on the first recurring invoice.
Steps
In Finance > Invoices > Recurring Invoice, click Edit on your plan.
Under line-items, add your setup fee as an item.
Set its Quantity to 1 and Unit Price to the fee amount.
In Total Count, enter 1 for that line-item if the UI supports per-item cycles; otherwise:
Add the setup fee manually on the first generated invoice, then remove it from the template.
Save.
Tips
Label the item “One-time Setup Fee” so clients see it clearly.
After the first invoice, remove the fee item from the template to avoid recharging.
Troubleshooting / FAQs
Q: Fee appears on every invoice.
A: Remove it from the recurring template after the first run, or set its count to 1 if supported.
Q: I can’t set per-item cycle counts.
A: Our UI currently only supports whole-template cycles; add the fee manually to the first invoice.
