How to Add a New Asset

Overview
Record any company‑owned item—laptops, furniture, tools—in Laywork so you can track assignment, status, and value.

Steps

1. Navigate to Assets → Add New Asset.

2. Fill in Asset Name (e.g. “Dell XPS 13”).

3. Select or Add an Asset Type (e.g. Tech, Vehicle).

4. Enter required fields: Serial Number, Value, Location.

5. Choose current Status (Available, Lent, Lost, Damaged, Under Maintenance).

6. (Optional) Upload an Asset Picture and add a Description.

7. Click Save.

Tips

• Use clear, consistent naming (e.g. “Laptop – VanLong”).

• Add photos to speed up physical identification.

Troubleshooting

• “Asset Type” not in dropdown? Click Add next to the dropdown, enter the new type, and save.

• Save button disabled? Ensure all required fields (marked *) are filled.
